TIMELY TOPIC SCHEDULED FOR NEXT ALL MEMBER MEETING

The next all-member membership meeting of the Woodstock Chamber will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 7:30 am in the community meeting room located at Golden Eagle Community Bank, 975 Country Club Road, Woodstock.

September's meeting focus will be on controlling and reducing your unemployment insurance tax rate(s). Our featured speaker, Stewart Bailenson, a resident of Woodstock, has conducted numerous seminars over 30 years in Illinois and surrounding states. Mr. Bailenson has written several publications relating to this timely topic and will address how employers can process unemployment claims, appeal decisions, attend hearings, verify benefit charges, verify tax rates, and establish personnel forms and policies.

As a business owner, you may not be aware that this is a bottom-line cost that can be controlled. One unemployment claim can now cost your company in excess of $10,000. Learn how to transfer the benefit charges for a former employee's unemployment benefits to another employer and techniques for verifying how the state determines benefit charges, tax rates, and other items.
